Day 10 : Petris Birthday Party

Saturday morning , in Finland .... last night was absolutely insane ! Today will be better , Petri, Rainer,Marko,Petr and myself all wake up and try to eat . Try to eat , yeah food isn't staying down so well so back in the sauna . One thing i really really love about Finland is the saunas , what a rough life i have . The van comes out and the cases upon cases of beer gets loaded in , today is Petris birthday party and we will be partying with the Nokia ( Tampere) Devils hockey team and friends and family of Petris . Turns out to be quite the international cast of lunatics ( in a good way ).

Petri rented this cabin that sleeps around 40 people on a lake ( just like home but bigger ) .The alcohol instantly begins to flow and the party kicks into high gear FAST , i mean really fast . Shots and beers and vodka is flowing from everywhere you can imagine . This place is totally amazing , perfectly planned night of debauchery ! Most everyone is half in the bag by the time dinner is ready . Personally i am not drinking so much as i feel like a sack of shit from the night prior , but i still have the time of my life.

If i haven't said it before i will say it now , Hockey Players all around the world are pretty much the same , drinking and partying is second nature . We end up giving speeches and dinner is served ...chicken,potatoes , coleslaw is all prepared by Petris mother , whom may i add is a fabulous cook !  After dinner and during drinks are still everywhere you can imagine and these Finns can definitely drink . At some point we get to the sauna which is ginormous . I have to explain that people here are not as shy about being naked as some guys that i know back home , so clothes are optional ....and like they say when in Rome do as the Romans , so you can guess what my clothing was LOL!

I turned in earlier than most and gladly for that as i don't have a screaming headache today , and tomorrow morning i am lucky enough to have an ice time here in Tampere at 8 AM . Peace out !
