Karl's Birthday

Woke up at Dazza's place , nice and comfy we are all feeling at home . This day was Karl's Birthday and today we were gonna try to do what he would want ... without him telling us because alas Karl is not a demanding asshole like i am LOL ... yes please laugh with me :) Once we were all up we decided to go to get some breakfast , Sarah had to go work and Daz was running errands so Karl , Nick and myself went looking for the tire shop with the breakfast joint beside it ...fair enough . We were told to go left then left then right but we skipped the first left and took an extra one and ended up in front of a footie supporters pub ... don't think i should be here wearing my Villa gear . We asked a passerby and he pointed us in the right direction and we were off to have some bacon ! When we found the place we were told at the entrance there was no bread ? ok but there is white bread ? ok what does that mean ??? regardless we sat down and had toast with our breakfasts LOL ! food was great but i still have no clue what the name of the place was ... just ask Daz :) . As it was Karl's bday i bought him breakfast ! 

After breakfast we just chilled and watched movies like Youngblood and Miracle on Ice ... Karl was happy , he was having quite the hockey birthday . When everyone arrived back at Daz's place we packed up and moved onto Mark & Lisa's place which is near the pub we were at the other night . When we arrived we had a quick couple drinks and headed out to watch the Sheffield Steelers vs. Nottingham Panthers in their big EIHL league game . For those of you that have no clue , this is the top ice hockey league in the UK ... here is their website check it out http://www.eliteleague.co.uk/ . This is when the Christmas Jumper made its debut , and yes it has lights and i think its a Christmas cake or something . To be fair i have no clue what it is , i just think its ugly and awesome in its own way :) Nick has the same one and his gets unveiled outside the arena as well since he didn't make his way to Mark & Lisa's and is planning to leave in the middle of the night for some silly reason or another ?!?!?! ...no comment ...

The game was great and all of Dazza's team mates had their Christmas Jumpers on too , wish i had a picture with everyone ! A few of the guys asked me if i thought the hockey was horrible ??? As i said to them i will say to you now ... Do you think you can play with these guys ? ... probably not ... so why would you say they're awful ? if you can't play with them that's saying alot ! ... next time you try to judge hockey just remember these guys are probably much better then you are , respect the game :) Anyways after telling the guys stuff like this i think they changed their tone about the game and realized what i was trying to tell them . I personally enjoy watching ice hockey when i am travelling and this wasn't bad at all ... the atmosphere was great and the rivalry was definitely there . The game was tight and the home team won . I was happy to see this game and would gladly go again ! Sheffield 3 Nottingham 2 ... close score . But i really gotta tell you the highlight for me was before the game when the lights went out :P I put the sweater on at its fullest glory and so many people turned their heads to see this display of lighting genius HAHAHA!!! I had a laugh and i think everyone else did too .... lets just say the beers were definitely flowing !

After the game the team went too some Indian restaurant named ARGH ... not really my cup of tea ... so i headed to KFC with Mark & Lisa and scarfed down some dirty bird . After that we headed back to their place and had a few beers . Unfortunately this is almost 5 weeks of travelling now in a row and i am beat down , tired and the beers are seriously not having any effect on me after drinking for like 30 days straight ... i'm pickled and tuckered out . My gracious hosts set me up with an air mattress and gave me a private room and next thing you know i'm out cold .... 

Happy Birthday Karl ! Glad i got to spend the day with you especially after seeing you in Toronto on my bday . Cheers
